However, the high customer demand during this period often leads to operational inefficiencies, such as long wait times and staff being over or under-utilised. The Athlete’s Foot sought a solution to provide personalised fittings for school-aged customers, creating a better customer experience while maximising sales and staff management efficiency.
The Solution:
To address these challenges, The Athlete’s Foot partnered with Storeplay IQ (formerly known as SocialQ) to introduce bespoke, bookable after-hours shoe fitting events for schools. Using Storeplay IQ’s robust scheduling and event management system, stores could:
- Easily schedule and promote exclusive after-hours fitting sessions tailored specifically for schools.
- Efficiently allocate staff to meet demand, avoiding overstaffing or understaffing issues.
- Create a more organised, enjoyable experience for customers, reducing wait times and improving overall satisfaction.
Storeplay IQ's system was powered by AWS Services, including Amazon CloudFront and AWS Lambda, ensuring scalability, speed, and reliability during the high-demand period.
The Results:
The collaboration between The Athlete’s Foot and Storeplay IQ proved highly successful:
- Over 9,000 bookings were made during the critical three-week back-to-school period.
- Store managers were able to align staffing levels precisely with customer demand, leading to increased profitability.
- Enhanced operational efficiency and optimised staff scheduling resulted in a better customer experience and greater overall customer satisfaction.
